Short answer is no, but with a caveat. In reality, we are all psychic and or have psychic abilities. For me, I like to use the word intuitive rather than psychic. I think it softens the word for many people who have misunderstandings about what being psychic really is. Most people admit to having intuition about things, or say they have a “gut” feeling. Poh-ta-toe Pah-ta-toe, same innate ability that we can develop.
When I had my personal Akashic Record reading, I found it to be very useful and healing in many ways. I had first heard the term from Edgar Cayce's materials and as time went on, I would see more things about the Records. I decided to read a few books on the subject, and when a training was offered by a spiritual teacher I respected, I decided it was time to add it to my spiritual tool belt.
Because the Akashic Records are a non-physical plane of existence accessible through spiritual means such as meditation, dreams, or honed psychic abilities, they don’t “come from” anywhere per se. My first knowledge of them was from A.R.E. where mystic Edgar Cayce explained that every action, thought, desire or deed creates a vibration that marks the thread of space and time and is permanently associated with the individual (soul) responsible.
I tend to use my own Akashic Records for guidance and understanding. I’m a huge proponent of self-improvement for both myself and others, and that can only happen when we are willing to go within and gain insight about ourselves.
All Akashic Records Reader are psychic and like myself may use them in other ways within their practice. I can gain insight into past life issues that could be affecting your current emotional or spiritual health and know what you are ready to heal on a soul level. For anyone, when working as a healer, accessing the Akashic Records can uncover hidden agendas and blocks. In order to heal you must know the starting point. For lasting results, the root cause must be addressed!
I don’t know of a particular person that is attributed to discovering the Akashic Records. Since it is a “field of consciousness” it always has been and will be there.
Akashic Record readings are pretty much always about looking into past lives. A skilled Akashic Records reader will be able to use their psychic abilities to correlate how it is affecting your current life.Because the concept of past lives is closely tied to the notion of karma (the spiritual principle of cause and effect) actions in your past lives may influence your current and futures lives. When you explore your past lives through the Akashic Records, you can look for karmic patterns and lessons that continue to affect their present life.
Some practitioners have their own specific recommendations or rituals for preparing for an Akashic Records reading, so it’s always a good idea to follow their guidance. If you have specific questions, I suggest sitting quietly and thinking of the best way to ask. The more clarity you have around what you are seeking, the better the answer will be. It also sets the intention of what the reader should be looking for in your records and intention is key to any spiritual or healing work. Intention focuses energy!
Akashic Record Readings as with any psychic, tarot, runes or other type of reading can be different depending on the practitioner, yet there will be common things to expect. The first Akashic Record Reading that I had was quite profound for me since it pointed me in a direction I did not expect at all, yet served me well. It also enlightened me to why I had been reluctant to put myself out there as a healer since I discovered I had been shunned by family and friends in a previous life.
I will preface my answer by saying that it’s really hard to take your ego out of the equation anytime you look into things about yourself. Whether it’s in the records, using a pendulum, tarot cards, etc. the part of you that is fully invested in this world only (ego) may trick you into seeing what it is that you WANT to see. Being open to accepting what you find is key to correctness. That said, it will require a focused and disciplined approach.
