Why Your Anxiety Keeps Coming Back (And What Most People Miss)

If you’ve tried everything for your stress and anxiety - and nothing has worked - this might finally make sense.

Most people I’ve worked with who have these issues have done all the “right” things.

They’ve tried therapy. Read the books. Practiced breathing techniques. Watched You Tube Videos galore. Affirmations. Meditation. Yoga.

And yet…
The stress…the anxiety keep coming back.
Not always the same way. Not always as intense.

But it’s still there.
Like a bad sequel to a bad movie that never quite ends.

So, What’s Going On?

Although not easy to deal with, it’s actually fairly simple.

Think of your mind, emotions, and body like a single system:
• Thoughts are the surface
• Emotions are stored patterns (old stuck habits and routines)
• Your body is the output

Most approaches focus on thoughts.

“Think positive.” “Reframe it.” “Challenge the belief.”

That’s fine. To a point.

But here’s the problem:

Anxiety usually isn’t coming from your thoughts.

It’s coming from something deeper.

The Hidden Layer Most People Miss

Underneath the thoughts…underneath even the emotions…there’s usually fear.

Not always obvious fear. Mostly subconscious fear you’re not even aware of. And probably don’t remember where it came from.

It’s not “I’m being chased by a tiger” fear.

’m talking about quiet, buried, hidden, stuck background fear.

The kind that doesn’t introduce or announce itself.

It’s the kind of fear that just sits there. Lurking. Running the system.

Like software in the background of your computer.

You don’t see it. You don’t hear it. You may not even exactly feel it.

But it’s affecting everything.

What Kind of Fear Are We Talking About?

I’ve seen tons of denial about this.

Because when people hear “fear,” they often say, “I’m not afraid of anything.”

But when we look closer, we find things like:
• Fear of losing control
• Fear of not being good enough
• Fear of rejection
• Fear of being judged
• Fear of failing (or even succeeding)
• Fear of being alone
• Fear that something is “wrong” with them
• Fear of abandonment
• Fear of betrayal

These don’t always show up as fear.

They show up as:
• Overthinking
• Tightness in the chest
• Restlessness
• Trouble sleeping
• That constant “on edge” feeling

In other words…

They show up as stress and anxiety.

Why “Fixing Thoughts” Doesn’t Fix It

Let’s use a simple analogy.

Imagine your anxiety is coming from a song playing on repeat.

Most approaches try to fix the song by changing the lyrics.

But the real issue is…

The song is still playing.

That “song” is the underlying fear pattern.

So even if you change your thoughts…the pattern keeps running. It keeps playing the same old tune.

And the anxiety keeps coming back.

The Real Problem (Which Is Good News)

The problem isn’t that nothing works.

The problem is:

Most methods aren’t targeting the root.

They’re working at the surface.

Which is why you might feel better temporarily…but not permanently.

The Good News

When we get to the root - when we actually clear or shift that underlying pattern - the system doesn’t need to produce your stress or anxiety anymore.

Not because you forced it to stop. That doesn’t work.

It’s because the underlying reason for it is gone.

What This Looks Like in Real Life

Here’s a simple example.

Let’s you have constant anxiety at work.

You think it’s because your workload is heavy and causing you stress. .

But underneath, there’s a fear of not being good enough.

So every email feels like pressure.

Every meeting feels like judgment.

Every mistake feels bigger than it is.

Those fears are driving your system.

Remove or shift the fears…
and suddenly:
• The same job feels different
• The same tasks feel manageable
• The anxiety drops - without forcing it

Nothing “external” changed.

But everything feels different.

A Different Way to Look at Stress and Anxiety

Instead of seeing anxiety as the enemy…

What if it’s nothing more than a signal?

Not a problem.

Just a message.

“Hey, you - there’s something deeper here that needs attention.”

And most of the time…that “something” is fear.

Not loud fear. Quiet fear. Stored fear. Stuck fear. Old fear. Subconscious fear.

Love the analogy of the 'bad movie sequel.' We often forget that the body is just the printer for the mind's subconscious software. If the 'fear' code is still running in the background, no amount of positive thinking will change the printout. Understanding that anxiety is a signal rather than a defect is the first step toward true systemic clearing - which Pranic Healing can do via the anxiety and other Pranic Psychotherapy protocols.

Thank you Dexter for this detail explanation of what seems so very hard to explain sometimes. One just feels the stress, anxiety, depression, frustration. Period. Now we are learning that there are roots for all of these feelings and those, like any root, can be removed and planted with healthier ground!

Last September I suddenly got severe neck, shoulder and arm pain from a pinched nerve in my cervical (neck) area that interfered with all activity. I got medical treatment and physical therapy, but it wasn't until the Pranic healing sessions that I got true relief. I got initial healing from Dexter at the end of last year. I felt an emerging increase of pain a month ago and I scheduled a couple sessions with Christine with great results. Happy to report enjoying a completely pain-free shower for the first time in 6 months! It may sound like a small event, but I was exuberant!

Something I've learned as a patient... the Pranic healing community is global and remote, but feels close and personal. These people know and support each other and come together from California, Pennsylvania, Utah, Canada, Columbia...etc. I appreciate the potency of this collaboration. It is amazing that the healing impact occurs across the planet and has effect while I am sleeping, cooking, working, or whatever. Their dedication and effort in releasing energy blocks and increasing positive flow for specific conditions is impressive.

Yes, Pranic Healing is an amazing community. I am familiar with few other energy healing practices and Pranic Healing is by far my first go to especially because of the community surrounding it no matter where you are so long as you have internet connection. Why does everyone count chakras differently? Have you ever noticed that some traditions work with 4 or 7 chakras, while others—like Pranic Healing—focus on 11 or more? It’s not a contradiction; it’s about resolution.

Think of it like a map. A 4-chakra system is like a high-altitude view of a continent—perfect for seeing your overall spiritual direction. An 11-chakra system is like a street-level GPS; you need that extra detail when you’re doing specific "repair work" on the body’s energy systems. Whether it’s the 7 centers most people know or the specialized "extra" centers like the Spleen or Meng Mein, each system offers a different tool for the journey.
