I was at the Healing Body & Spirit Expo last weekend - and it was really amazing. A lot of great people stopped by my table - and I so appreciate the courage it takes to talk to a stranger about what is real in your life.
The words from Harry Palmer below are from a powerful video that explores the personal efforts that create collective power. We start with ourselves, and I am honored by the number of people who shared the compassion exercise with me and were honest about their goals and challenges. This honesty and support is invaluable and has a ripple effect.
Another aspect of the video is about the value of making friends. I really felt this at the expo, everyone enjoyed each other's company, was supportive and enjoyed sharing the bond of common interests. This makes for enjoyable times - and it is my hope that our friendship can grow and help improve the world.
Thanks to all the 'no longer strangers' that I met. And please know that I'd like to stay in touch, so reach out if you are drawn to do so.
Blessings, Derek

3 Vital Qualities
Societies, particularly those under democratic rule, reflect (and shape) the general attitude of the individuals that participate in them.
Societies that wish to flourish will place a high value on personal responsibility, compassion, and service to others.
The extensiveness of these three qualities - personal responsibility, compassion, and service to others - will indicate if a society is expanding toward tolerance and stability, or contracting and failing.
These indicators will also tell you whether an individual, or a group, is on the rise or the decline. If you wish to improve an individual, a group, or a society, you can do it by increasing these three qualities: personal responsibility, compassion, and the service they give to others.
As these qualities take root, they nurture positive "we-attitudes." We-attitudes are: we can build it, we can do it, and we can succeed. We-attitudes are typical in a group that is on the rise.
